Privacy Policy

1. Overview

DevToolkit (“we”, “our”, “the extension”) is a Chrome browser extension developed by eDesign Space. This Privacy Policy explains what information DevToolkit collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

The short version: DevToolkit does not collect, transmit, store, or sell any personal data. Everything runs locally in your browser.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

DevToolkit does not collect:

Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
Your browsing history or the URLs you visit
The content of websites you inspect using our tools
Any data you enter into forms or tools within the extension
Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
Usage analytics or behavioural telemetry of any kind

There are no third-party analytics, advertising scripts, or tracking pixels embedded in DevToolkit.

3. Local Data Storage

Some features store data locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in chrome.storage API. This includes:

Your settings and preferences (e.g. enabled tools, screenshot format, filename template)
Colour history saved by the Color Picker tool
Tasks and reminders created in the Reminders tool
Your Pro licence key, if applicable

This data never leaves your device. It is stored exclusively in your browser’s local storage and is not accessible to us or any third party.

4. Permissions Explained

DevToolkit requests certain Chrome permissions to function. Here is what each permission is used for and what it is not used for:

`activeTab`	To run tools on the current tab when you open the popup
`scripting`	To inject the CSS Inspector and Element Remover into a page
`tabs`	To read the current tab’s URL for tools like SEO Audit and Cookie Editor
`storage`	To save your settings and reminders locally on your device
`downloads`	To save screenshots, font files, and exported data to your Downloads folder
`cookies`	To read and write cookies for the Cookie Editor tool
`browsingData`	To clear cache and storage via the Debug Panel — only when you explicitly press the button
`notifications`	To fire Reminder notifications you have scheduled
`declarativeNetRequest`	To temporarily strip iframe-blocking headers for the Responsive Preview tool — active only while a preview session is open
`alarms`	To trigger scheduled Reminder notifications in the background
`debugger`	Used internally for screenshot capture on certain page types

None of these permissions are used to monitor, track, or collect data about your browsing activity.

5. Pro Licence Key

If you purchase DevToolkit Pro, you will receive a licence key by email. This key is stored locally on your device via chrome.storage. It is not transmitted to any external server during normal use. Licence validation, if implemented in future versions, will be handled in a privacy-preserving manner consistent with this policy.

6. Third-Party Services

DevToolkit does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.

The Responsive Preview tool loads websites in iframes inside a Chrome extension tab. Those websites are loaded directly in your browser and are subject to their own privacy policies. DevToolkit does not intercept, read, or transmit any data from those loaded websites.

The Font Detector tool may request font CSS files from Google Fonts servers to enable font previews in the popup. This is a standard browser request and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

7. Children’s Privacy

DevToolkit is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of DevToolkit after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
